3 janvier Music maniaI have been lazy over the Christmas season with my blog and I am still feeling lazy. So though I am writing an entry I have no idea what to write about... Ok I could go on about how I am at the moment brainwashing myself with Michael Buble's new album-Call me Irresponsible. I am loving his song Lost & Me and Mrs Jones (the old Billy Paul song, at least I think that's who it was by) but I have to say the words from "I'm Your Man" Are playing with my emotions and stirring all kinds of thoughts up in me. I think they should be the test that every man should pass, in order to be a woman's lover :) "I'm Your Man"

Well it's one of the toys I got. Tomorrow I will introduce you to some of the others... I heard it, I listened to it, and thought oh this is sweet. But how can love be as soft as an easy chair? How can you even know what love is at 16 and 17? I remember memorising the words, though it wasn't cool to like songs like that- at that age. Some things never change it probably still isn't cool, the only difference is that age makes you impervious to what others consider to be PC. I like it so I don't give a damn is the attitude I have in my 40's. Now as I listen caught up in the feel and atmosphere of the words and melody, I realise I barely knew what love was then.

But the first time I heard Evergreen I was lost. When I heard Woman in Love there was simply no hope for me! And I have been torturing my family with my rendition of that song for years. For a long time I couldn't find my copy of the tape-yes it was the days of tapes, Cds were unheard of, or a Cd Player was out of my reach finacially. Then I found out to my horror, that I had lent it to my sister (bet my neighbours were so pleased) on it's return years later it wouldn't work. And so my favourite song of all time faded into a dim memory. Until A certain woman announced she was doing live concerts, I am still recovering at the shock of the price of the tickets! But it's inevitable when there is a concert, an album is sure to follow... Sometimes you can't beat the thrill of receiving something through the post. My excitement knew no bounds as I opened the brown parcel, hm I hadn't ordered anything. So what had the postman brought me today? It was a belated birthday pressy- The Essential Barbara Streisand.

What a woman can do Its a right That I defend over and over again...... 25 septembre Researching J Lopez Dvd- Honestly it is. (MUSIC)(MEN)It had to happen, i got the dvd from amazon. Jennifer Lopez-The Reel Me and i just don't want to send it back! Its the fantastic music, or maybe i'm turning gay, and it's the many gorgeous images of J Lo that has me transfixed. Ohh alright i admit it , it's the video for Aint It Funny, i am mesmerised watching it. It reminds me of a long passion to learn flamenco, or in this case much stomping of feet and arrogant poses and ohh, i admit it, it's the gorgeous Gypsy King- Eduardo Verastegui. For research purposes i have looked for a pic, seems he acts, smoulders & dances, (oh yes!) For my eyes at least and just to give me a pictorial view of the dvd i am nattering about i have enclosed a pic or two. Just for research and for memory recall :) EDUARDO VERASTEGUI is one of today's fastest rising Latino stars. A singer and actor, the Mexican-born Verastegui was seen in Jennifer Lopez's Ain't It Funny video, directed by the late Herb Ritts. Met my mum and sister in town, did the shopping thing then because we were all tired it was time to rest the legs. No teashop for my mum though, its the pub! So spent the rest of the afternoon in there.
Came home and raided my daughters cd collection again lol.
Found the Pussycat dolls who i have been going on about for a while, cos i still like pop. Or what ever genre they are classed as, and no i'm not asking, cos i can guess what some people will say :)
Also found Rihanna- love the SOS song and UNFAITHFUL is brilliant.
But what my naughty daughter didn't tell me is Pussycat dolls do a version of FEELING GOOD one of my all time favourite songs. Just thought i'd share the words, cos it's an old song but i still loved it by a modern group. Loved HOTSTUFF & SWAY too.

Tonight i am listening to Katherine Jenkins, i felt a need for a bit of romance, and the music to ignite it.
I found her album on my music-player must have put it there ages ago and forgot it. She does have a beautiful voice, if you like that classical sound. And i'm sure many males see other virtues of beauty within her !
Listening to 'House of no Regrets' stirred something within me. I think the song is gorgeous & set out searching for the words. Couldn't find them, not even on google!
but i did find out why the haunting music was familiar. I think it was used as the theme for the 'Onedin Line' and if i have the right music, it is the adagio from the Ballet 'Spartacus'.
I may have it all totally wrong, and it could be an entirely different song! it will drive me nuts til i find out lol. but i not only learnt about the Armenian composer-Aram Khachaturian, but a modern song and a ballet.
well it is time to watch Murphy's law on tv.
Too much romance ! i need a bit of grit now :) 27 août lazy day-listening to MUSICI have had a wonderfully lazy day today, stayed in bed until 2.00 reading my mag and drinking too much tea.
And then, i made, don't know if i dare mention it! in todays health conscious society, it would be very politically incorrect. I made home-made chips! They were very yummy though, so there you go.
I am listening to Christina Aguilera's new CD Back to Basics.
It is certainly different, very dramatic. They say, its jazzy & Bluesy, it does have a showgirl kind of thing and 'Nasty Naughty Boy' is bad! i did wonder whether to put the words on, oh well why not :)
